How do I reset my account password via friend assistance?
Follow these steps to reset your password:
- On the login screen, tap 「Unable to Log In?」 at the bottom of the WeChat login page.
- Request Account Recovery and provide a mobile number where you can be contacted. This can also be the number of your close contacts.
- Receive the verification code and tap 「Next」.
- Select 「Appeal Again」 to repeat the process. It will eventually generate a 6-digit code that your two Emergency Contacts need to send you through a chat message.
Ask 2 of your contacts to:
- Open WeChat.
- Search for your account.
- Send the 6-digit code to you via chat message.
