Adding Friends via People Nearby or Friend Radar

In addition to adding friends by phone number or WeChat ID, you can use「People Nearby」and「Friend Radar」to discover and connect with new friends in your area.

1. People Nearby

From the 「Discover」 tab, select 「People Nearby」.

• By default, the last few posts from your「Moments」will be visible to these “People Nearby.” However, this feature can be turned off in Settings.

Tips:

• To prevent others from finding you, you can clear your location manually.
• When using「People Nearby」, your profile will be visible for a limited time (less than 24 hours). During this period, others can add you or send greetings.
• To remove yourself from the list, follow these steps:
  1. Go to 「Discover」 > 「People Nearby」.
  2. Tap the 「...」 icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Select 「Clear Location」.

2. Friend Radar

Friend Radar allows you to quickly add people without typing their WeChat ID or phone number. This method is especially convenient for groups, as everyone can add each other simultaneously.

Steps to use Friend Radar:

1. Tap「Contacts」.

2. Select the icon in the top-right corner.

3. Choose「Friend Radar」and WeChat will search for people around you who are also using this feature. Once they appear, tap their profile photos to add them.

Note: Friend Radar shows people within a 1000-meter radius.
