What to Do If Forgot WeChat Password and Account Isn't Linked to a Mobile Number, Email, or QQ

If you’ve forgotten your WeChat password and your account is not linked to a mobile number, email, or QQ number—making it impossible to log in through other methods—we recommend trying the following steps:

1. Open the WeChat login page and tap「Unable to log in？」 at the bottom.
2. Agree to the Appeal note, then tap「Start Appeal」and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. After submitting your information, you will receive an SMS within 24 hours with the result. If your request is approved, a new WeChat password will be sent to the phone number you provided.
4. Once approved, log in using your WeChat ID and the new password.

Notes:

1. After logging in with your WeChat ID and the new password, all previously linked accounts will be automatically unlinked. You can then bind a new mobile number, QQ number, email address, or Facebook account.
2. If you accidentally delete the SMS containing the new password after a successful recovery, then will have to repeat the recovery process.
