As the group owner, you can perform the following actions within the group:
1. Set a group announcement. Can tap here to learn how to set a group announcement.
2. Remove group members. Can tap here to learn how to remove members from the group.
3. To transfer ownership to another member. You can enter the group chat > Tap the 「...」 icon in the upper-right corner > Select 「Manage Group」> Tap 「Transfer Ownership」> Choose a member to assign as the new owner.
4. Assign Group Admins. Go to the group chat > tap the top right “...” > select「Manage Group」>「Group Admin」> tap the 「+Add Member」 and choose members to designate as group admins.
Group admins have the following permissions:
Change the group name for groups with over 100 members
Post group announcements
Set and approve how members join the group
Remove group members
5. Enable the「Invitation Approval」feature to control how non-members join the group. With this feature enabled, non-members can only be added after receiving approval, and joining via a group QR code will be disabled.
Steps to enable Invitation Approval (only if you are initiator): Enter the group chat > Tap the 「...」 icon in the upper-right corner > Select 「Manage Group」> Toggle on 「Invitation Approval」
6. View how a member joined the group. Enter the group chat > tap the top right「...」> select any group member > then can see how they were added to the group.
Note: WeChat designates the group creator as the group owner by default.
