1. Why Am I Restricted from Using People Nearby?
Your use of the People Nearby feature may be restricted for the reasons: incomplete or illegal profile information, using an unofficial version of WeChat, overusing the People Nearby feature, being reported for violating platform rules.
To resolve the restriction, you can complete your personal information correctly, remove any account information or Moments that violate platform rules, or take a break from using the feature depending on the reason for the restriction.
Note: If the restriction is due to a violation such as lewd content or illegal marketing, the restriction cannot be lifted immediately. You will need to wait for it to be removed.
2. How Can I Prevent Others from Sending Me Greetings?
Your information is retained for about 30 minutes after you open People Nearby. To block others from finding your location: Open WeChat > tap「Discover」>「People Nearby」> tap「...」in the top-right corner > 「Clear Location」.
Note: If the footprints icon is displayed in People Nearby, it means others can still find you.
