Certain features accessible to WeChat users are operated by Tencent Weixin in the mainland of China and are collectively known as Weixin Services. This includes features like Advanced Search, Channels, Top Stories, and Mini Programs. When you use these features, your personal data will be retained, shared, or stored according to the "Weixin Privacy Protection Guidelines", not the "WeChat Privacy Policy."
If you do not want your data stored within Weixin Services, you can go to Me > Settings > General > Manage Discover > Select the services you wish to turn off from Weixin Services. After a period of time, the data will be automatically cleared, and the feature will be hidden from "Discover" tab. You can re-enable these features at any time in the same way, which indicates your agreement to the relevant terms.
Additionally, you might use Weixin Open Platform Services that operated by Weixin but provided by third parties. For example, when you follow an Official Account, open a Mini Program, or use WeChat to log into a third-party application or website, your personal data will be collected, retained, shared, and stored by the third-party service provider according their privacy policy, not the "WeChat Privacy Policy." These third-party services include Mini Programs, Mini Games, Official Accounts, and Weixin Login.
If you no longer want a third-party service provider to access your personal data, you can unfollow their Official Account. Simply go to Contacts > Official Accounts, swipe right on the account you want to unfollow, and then select "Unfollow".
