Users can request to download their WeChat account’s personal data, making it easier to port your data to another service.
Follow these steps to export your personal data:
1. Go to the「Me」tab and select「Settings」>「Privacy」>「My Information & Authorizations」.
2. Select「Export Personal Data」.
3. Enter your email address and verify it.
4. Choose the type(s) of data you wish to export.
5. After submitting your request, WeChat will prepare your data. Once it’s ready, you’ll receive an email notification with a download link.
To download your data:
1. Open the link in the notification email using a computer browser.
2. Scan the authorization QR code with WeChat on your phone.
3. You’ll receive a download link and a password to access the protected file.
4. Use the provided password to unlock and decompress the downloaded file.
Important: Download your data within 72 hours of receiving the notification email; otherwise, you’ll need to request a new download.
