When your phone is lost or stolen, you should attempt to log in to your WeChat account as soon as possible and follow the instructions below to prevent potential risks:
1. Freeze Your WeChat Account to Prevent Unauthorized Access. On the login page, tap 「More Options」at the bottom >「WeChat Security Center」>「Freeze Account」>「Freeze」, then follow the instructions.
2. Go to 「Me」>「Settings」>「Account Security」>「Manage Devices」. There, you can remove unwanted devices from "Trusted Devices" by sliding them to the left and tapping “Delete”. When someone attempts to log in from an untrusted device, verification will be activated.
3. If your phone number cannot be retrieved, then you will need to unlink it: Go to「Me」>「Settings」>「Account Security」>「Phone」>「Change Mobile」. After switching to a new number, your previous number will automatically be unlinked.
Note:
1. Freezing your account will not delete it. This is a temporary solution to prevent unauthorized access.
2. Freezing your account does not delete your account information, so your friends can still locate you in their contacts and send messages.
